We are a small, family-owned kennel just
across the bridge from Portland, Oregon in Vancouver, Washington. Currently, our dogs are competing
in conformation and training in herding and obedience and we are soaking up as much knowledge as we can from experienced breeders.
Our Aussies live in our home and go everywhere with us. It's become "the norm" for our friends and family
to see (and expect) that we'll have a couple of four-legged friends along. This is a breed that thrives on
time and attention from it's family and does not do well as a backyard ornament. We've tried to include lots of pictures
of our dogs so that you get a good idea of who they are.
Makana is Hawaiian for gift and I'm sure that those that have been privileged
to own Aussies would agree, these dogs are definitely little gifts.
While we may find this breed to be absolutely
perfect, they will not fit into every lifestyle. They are active dogs who do best with a job (agility, herding, flyball,
Rally, etc). Please be sure to read more on Miniature Australian Shepherds and to ask a lot of questions before making
such a committment.
